It’s me in all my practicality….. but who needs fancy when beautiful St. James knits are available at the click of a button 😉
This isn’t my first time to sew with these phenomenal Ponte knits and I hope it won’t be my last. Available in several color ways, Mood Fabrics’ St. James stable knits are the ideal year round fabrics. My first project was a Spring dress blogged here. This time it’s a Winter cardigan and crew neck pullover.
The Blackwood Cardigan by Helen’s Closet is a long time favorite pattern due to its longer length and slim silhouette.
The crew neck must have been influenced by our frigid temperatures, because I generally wear scoop and v-necks!
I omitted the cardigan’s lower band to achieve a longer silhouette and shortened the length of the cuffs by 2 inches. Sewing with knits can be like a box of chocolates, but this knit is the cream of the crop! It’s wonderful recovery, ample stretch and medium weight are the characteristics I relish! The stripes are easy to match too 😉
It’s a pleasure to be back blogging for the Mood Sewing Network after taking time off to meet the publisher’s deadline for the next book! I’ll try to move on from these wonderful knits but with four more patterns available it may not be so easy…
