I’m always looking to add more tops to my wardrobe, especially ones that look great and are low maintenance when it comes to laundering them. Because ain’t nobody got time to be turning on an iron outside of sewing!I picked this Black Polyester Peachskin Fabric because I’ve worked with it before I knew how well it goes from washer, dryer to wearing. I picked McCall’s 7868, because I thought it was a really cute, pullover, easy-to-wear tunic. And since I like shirt details, I picked a view with cuffs.I cut the size 14 and I added once inch to the length of the bodice. I love the look of the high collar with the keyhole opening. But I plan to wear this into the spring, so I used the view with the neck bias binding and the hook and eye. And even though I added the hook and eye, I doubt I’ll ever actually close it because I love the deep v.When I added length to the bodice, I lowered the waist by one inch and that’s where I added the casing and the elastic.
I cut down the cuffs by 1.5″ because they were swimming around my wrists. I based them off the size of my favorite button front shirts.I love this shirt and I’m feeling like I’m going to be adding a few more of these to my wardrobe.
