Wool Jersey Swinger

I LOVE

THIS DRESS!!!

She is done up in Mood Fabric’s Italian double face wool & lycra jersey, she is the latest installment from the lovelies at By Hand London, she fit RIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE.  She is exquisitely drafted, she is my new little black dress, who would have ever thought I’d have two in my technicolor closet?

The fabric is thick enough to skim and hug in all the right places, and yummy to sew with.  Except for the part where I godzilla steamed one of the bust cups and forever wrinkled it.  I have recently become acquainted with the steam function on my iron, and following fellow MSN’er Lladybird Lauren’s mantra that’ll steam out was probably not the best choice on wool.  To which Lauren would most certainly say DUH.

Not that noticeable in real life, however, so I’m all good with it.

I’M SORRY ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  THIS DRESS MAKES ME CATCALL MYSELF!!!

The fringe really makes this an LBD I’ll gladly wear.  I loved the length of the dress, but wanted to show a little more leg, as one does…so I attached 6-inch long stretch fringe trim, the end of the fringe hitting the end of the dress, then cut away the dress underneath.  Leg & Length!

I’m admittedly proud of this one.   I can’t help it.  Now I need an occasion, as this jammie wasn’t ready for New Year’s…. GROUNDHOG’S DAY.  I AM TOTALLY WEARING THIS FOR GROUNDHOG’S DAY.  Maybe that li’l bugger will come out when he sees this number.

You just made me realize how lackluster my life has been due to the virtual LACK OF FRINGE! How could I have made it this long in my sartorial career without realizing that fringe is a wardrobe staple?!?! Anyway! I’m loving this dress on you – soooooo sexy! Definitely hugs in allll the right places. And you know, Oona in black is a good look! Oh! And finally, wool jersey = yummy.

Wowza, that fringe on the dress is the classiest most brilliant idea ever. Here is your excuse for wearing this dress: Because you can. I would walk to work in that dress, just to feel that fringe sway across my knees. LOVE IT!
