Simple Striped T-Shirt Dress

I’ve just got a simple outfit to share with you today as the garment I was planning for this month’s Mood Sewing Network project has taken slightly longer than anticipated, plus my weekend sewing plans were scuppered by lack of a zip! Aargh! Luckily I picked up quite the selection of gorgeous fabrics in the Mood Fabrics Los Angeles branch when I visited the U.S. last month and I’ve already sewn a couple of other bits up. I absolutely loved the LA store and found all the staff to be so welcoming; helping me pull out bolt after bolt as […]

Dotted Cotton Voile Blouse and Navy Denim Skirt

When I was planning my summer sewing in my new home of Seattle, with its seemingly jumbled mix of warm and cool, sunny and cloudy days, I was drawn to Mood Fabric’s cotton voiles. I thought they would be perfect for a summer blouse no matter the weather. This particular dotted cotton voile in cornflower blue was my favorite. Designer Denim Made to Order

A little over a year ago after first watching Kenneth D. King’s Jean-ius class on Craftsy, I promised my good friend that I’d copy her one pair of fancy designer jeans for her. She’s 4’10″, and a good fitting pair of jeans is hard to come by. She can’t just hem longer jeans since the knees end up too low. She actually had to special order her one pair and still have them hemmed. Then months and months passed as work and other projects got in the way. Finally, around the beginning of this year, I was determined to get […]
