With an unexpected two days off from work from Hurricane / Tropical Storm Sandy back in November, I got to business in my sewing room. I decided to sew three ‘quick’ unplanned projects that could be finished within three weeks. Well, whaddayaknow? It’s a fancy new dress! Now, I’m not usually a print gal, but when I saw this Oscar de la Renta raw silk at the Mood NYC store, I HAD TO FREAKIN’ HAVE IT. No question about it. Yellow Tweed Sheath with Tie Collar

My newest dress is in a beautiful yellow Oscar de la Renta tweed from Mood. When I saw this fabric online, I knew it had to be mine. It’s mainly yellow, has loads of texture and sequins, and a total lux feel to it. I set about finding the perfect pattern to showcase it and had a bit of a roller coaster along the way.
