Skirt, Top and Bomber Jacket from Tracy Reese Inspiration

Deciding on a designer for this month’s challenge was a bit difficult for me but when I viewed the collection from Tracy Reese I knew this one was for me. I liked her bright colors, interesting details and fun fabrics. My plan was three pieces that would work well together, a skirt, top with a neckline detail and a bomber jacket. Mood fabrics' ikat poplin skirt with metallic knit top That plan changed to three separates to stretch my spring wardrobe, Mood Fabrics' three pieces inspired by Tracy Reese The fabrics played an integral part in my challenge pieces, which was heading in a different colorway until these three fabrics were in the new section at Mood Fabrics. The first is aMood Fabrics’ Red and aqua lightweight cotton poplin ikat print which I used a skirt pattern from an Ottobre magazine Mood Fabrics’ lightweight ponte knit for the waistband of the skirt and the trim on the bomber jacket. I liked this detail from the Tracy Reese spring collection, a solid waistband on the skirt was a perfect choice. The color and weight was just what I needed for my look. Mood Fabrics’ Silver-Gray Metallic Jersey was selected for the top, a bit of sparkle but not too intense for me. The top for this collection have great neckline details, so I went with Simplicity 4076, a favorite of mine, I love the gathered neckline. I also liked the top on the outside of my skirt with this look, a bit more casual. Mood fabrics' ikat poplin skirt and metallic jersey Next was a bomber jacket shown with several looks in the collection and this Bright Coral and Black Metallic Tweed seemed the perfect choice. It goes really well with the ikat poplin. mood fabrics' metallic tweed bomber2 I can see this jacket with black dresses, jeans, cropped trousers and all sorts of possibilities, just like the Tracy Reese Spring show Mood fabrics' metallic tweed bomber jacket with designer inspiration a side view of the jacket mood fabrics' tweed bomber I used Mood Fabrics’ gray and soft rose silk crepe de chine for the flat lining and black bias tape to finish the front facing. facing and here is a closeup of the front band and zipper front of jacket This challenge was inspiring, I paid closer attention to details, colors, fabric choices and possibilities. I am thrilled with my three separates and I have a nice start on my spring wardrobe Mood fabrics' ikat poplin skirt inspired designer look
