An Orphan No Longer

One of the satisfying things about sewing is being able to fill holes in your wardrobe. I’ve had this RTW top for ages without wearing it much because I didn’t have anything in my closet which really paired nicely. After searching in vain for some brown leggings or fitted pants I finally gave up and decided to make my own. I swatched this chocolate cotton double knit from Mood fabrics and loved the ridges and texture. I used Vogue 8859, a Marci Tilton design. An Athletic Inspired Mini Wardrobe

Hey everyone! I hope y’all have had a great September – I can’t believe it’s over already! Was it just me, or did it seem to fly by particularly fast? It’s got a nice […]

Comfy Cowl and Leggings

I currently can’t stop dreaming about making beautiful silk blouses and tailored wool coats and faux leather jackets, but my dreams are confounded by the fact that I’m so far into my pregnancy that all I want to wear are my comfiest comfies. So, to add a bit of polish to my daily wardrobe here in my last month of pregnancy, I decided to make a maternity-approved variation of the classic cowl from Mood Fabric’s black wool jersey. Mood describes this jersey as “a soft, tissue-weight wool jersey knit… perfect for t-shirts and tops.” I couldn’t agree more – it […]
