Water-Resistant Silk Trench Coat

I really enjoyed the challenge of making my first lightweight coat last year and had been considering making another for this spring. I spotted this Marc Jacobs Water-Resistant Ecru Dotted Silk on the Mood Fabrics website way back at the start of the year and knew it would be a match made in heaven for Sewaholic’s Robson Coat. Men’s Liberty-Inspired Cotton Paisley Shirt

Often, when dining out, between rich courses one is served a palate cleanser: a sprig of parsley for example, or some mint sorbet. This shirt — simpler than my typical Mood Sewing Network fare of late –  is my version of a palate cleanser: easy on the eyes and refreshingly minty. Enveloped in Cotton Voile

I had one eyebrow permanently raised to skyscraper height the entire time I was stitching up these wrap pants. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?  I actually prepped this pattern, Simplicity 4192, last summer in a hotel room in Dallas, but never tried it out.  Then, fellow MSN’er Peter went on a streak of menswear that gave me haute couture hives each week.  Suddenly, I HAD to have a pair of wrap pants.  It was like I had never seen a pair of wrap pants before. I stalked Mood Fabric’s shelves of voile, the same shelves Herr Peter [...]
